Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have recovered a cache of suspected stolen property following a dawn raid on an uncompleted building at Plot 70, Unit ‘A’, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.
The operation, carried out at about 5:30 a.m. on August 7, 2025, was disrupted when the suspects fled through the back door upon sighting police vehicles, leaving behind valuable household and personal items.
Recovered items include three split-unit air conditioners, a Butterfly sewing machine, wax fabrics, men’s native outfits, a black female gown, jerseys, curtains, t-shirts, a school bag, and even a teddy bear.
Police spokesperson DSP Timfon John confirmed that efforts are ongoing to trace the rightful owners of the recovered property, urging members of the public with relevant information to come forward.
