Uromi Killings: DSS Nabs Two Key Suspects as Crackdown Intensifies

Operatives of the Department of State Security DSS have apprehended two principal suspects linked to the gruesome killing of 16 Nigerians of Northern extraction in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Acting on credible intelligence, the DSS operatives made the arrests in Uromi, even as a manhunt for other key suspects remains ongoing. Security agencies have intensified efforts to ensure all those responsible for the killings face justice.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, had earlier disclosed during a condolence visit to Kano that 14 other suspects were in custody and set to be transferred to Abuja for further interrogation. He vowed that no perpetrator would escape the law, reaffirming his commitment to justice for the victims.

Governor Okpebholo also assured the bereaved families that adequate compensation would be provided.

A statement from the Edo State Governor’s media office confirmed that the two principal suspects arrested by the DSS have been moved to Abuja, where they will face further questioning and prosecution by relevant authorities.

Security forces continue to tighten their grip on the case, signaling a determined effort to bring all culprits to book.
