Ganduje’s suspension by the ward leadership of his hometown, where he is a registered party member, arises from multiple corruption allegations against him.
The party executives, signatories in a notice dated April 15, 2024, and communicated by APC Legal Advisor Haladu Gwanjo in Ganduje’s Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area ward, have invoked Article 21 of the All Progressives Congress Constitution, citing violations of its provisions.
Article 21(a) outlines the disciplinary powers vested in party executive committees at all levels, highlighting offenses such as breaches of the constitution, anti-party activities, or disobedience to lawful directives
. Ganduje’s alleged transgressions, as detailed within the suspension notice, have prompted calls for him to step aside and engage with the judicial inquiry established to thoroughly investigate these accusations.
The severity of the corruption allegations against Ganduje casts a shadow over the party and its members, necessitating a firm stance.
It is imperative for Ganduje to refrain from representing himself as a party member until the conclusion of the judicial process.
