In the midst of a nationwide protest calling for an end to bad governance, the Borno State Police Command, led by CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, demonstrated exceptional vigilance and dedication in maintaining law and order.
The Command’s swift actions resulted in the arrest of 97 suspects engaged in violence, theft, mischief, and the display of foreign flags, all aimed at disrupting the peace in the state.
Prior to the protest, the Command identified and apprehended seven social media influencers who were inciting violence and spreading hateful messages against government officials, religious leaders, and traditional rulers.
These arrests preempted potential acts of violence instigated by these individuals and helped prevent further chaos.
During the protest itself, law enforcement officers arrested 83 suspects for various offenses, including vandalism, looting, and rioting.
The damages caused by these individuals were extensive, ranging from the destruction of public and private properties to the disruption of essential services across the state.
However, the diligent efforts of the Borno State Police Command led to the recovery of numerous exhibits stolen by the suspects.
These recoveries included a variety of items, such as office furniture, household goods, and even foreign flags that posed a threat to national security.
Despite the challenges posed by the protest, the Command’s commitment to upholding public peace and security remained unwavering.
