Unpopular Policies Imposition Tends To Precipitate Anarchy, Gov Bala Warns Tinubu

Governor Bala Mohammed has counseled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Presidency to shun the tendencies of imposing unpopular policies on Nigerians, saying that such act may tend to precipitate anarchy in the country.

According to the governor, under a democratic dispensation, it’s not everything that a leader can load it over the people, emphasizing that the people must have a say in the way and manner they were being governed
“This is not an oligarchy, this is not military rule, the leadership must listen to the people, and that’s what make a good leader. And we pledge to be loyal to the leadership, but anything they are doing contrary to that, they are calling for anarchy, and it is unacceptable”.

He was speaking in Bauchi at a reception for the Christians community as part of the celebration marking the 2024 Christmas, stressing that taking into cognisance that the system being operated in Nigeria is neither an oligarchy, no a military rule whereby unpopular policies should not forcibly be imposed on the electorate.

“There is a lot of wahala in the land, we must work together across the party lines, across all the tiers of governments to provide succour and solace to the Nigerian people. It is not about pride or echo, we must be able to do things that people will be assisted, because whatever it is, the situation was not like this before”.

Governor added, “If the situation was bad before I came, tell me please, and I must change, and that’s why the presidency must listen to the tax reform cries, it is not a good policy for northern Nigeria, because we are not going to get money to pay salaries, to build roads, they must listen, otherwise they are calling for anarchy and that is not good”.

“We voted the presidency in this state and other states too, they must listen to us, they must not come with policies that favours only one section of the country or one state in the federation. It is not about religion, not about tribe, it is about national unity, it is about national hegemony, and this is what we are all about, good Leadership”.

Senator Bala Mohammed assured of loyalty to the federalists, telling the celebrants “We would continue to be loyal for the time-being, but if the situation persist, they will see our real colour, we are going to fight for it, ‘Bamu tsoron su. Wannan magana nayi ne domin  gwamnatin tarayya taji’, meaning-We are not afraid of them, I’m speaking for the federal government to hear”.
