UNESCO SELECTS BIDA AS BEST CITY

Niger state Commissioner of Tourism and Culture Mrs Rifkatu Adamu Chidawa has congratulated the Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger state Council of Traditional Rulers Alh Yahaya Abubakar on recent declaration of Bida as the best selected city in the world by UNESCO Cities Network.
She stated this when she visited the palace of Etsu Nupe Alh Yahaya Abubakar in Bida.
Mrs Rifkatu Adamu said that the designation and recognition of Bida city will enable it stand to access cultural grants from UNESCO as well as collaborate with member cities interms of cultural development among others.
She further explained that apart from strengthening the interaction and coorperation between cities that recognise creativity it will fully integrate cultural ties.
Earlier Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger state Council of Traditional Rulers Alh Yahaya Abubakar thanked the Commissioner for the visit and her effort at strengthening their cultural heritage and assured of his continued support at all times to succeed.
