In a significant development toward boosting to security and vocational development in Yobe State, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has handed over the newly reconstructed Gujba Police Division and Barracks to the Yobe State Government.
The facility was presented by Mr Mathew Alao,
Acting Head of Stabilisation UNDP’s Head of Stabilization, to the Special Adviser on Security Matters, Retired Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam PhD in Buni Yadi.
Mathew reiterated UNDP’s committment to supporting governments and citizens for productive living.
Abdulsalam then entrusted the facility to the Commissioner of Police CP Garba Ahmad Yobe State Command,
He described the development as key effort toward stabilizing the region and enhancing community resilience.
The visit included an inspection of the upgraded UNDP-supported vocational center, aimed at empowering local youth with skills training.
He assured state government committment on vocational training and other likelihood skills to youth and women in order to encourage self reliance among citizens.
