UMYU Mourns: Buhari’s Death Marks End of an Era — VC Prof. Shehu Salihu Muhammad

The Vice-Chancellor of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Professor Shehu Salihu Muhammad, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, describing it as a monumental national loss and the end of an era of exceptional leadership.

In a heartfelt condolence message on behalf of the entire UMYU community, Professor Muhammad extended sympathies to the late President’s family, the government and people of Katsina State, and the Nigerian nation, noting that Buhari’s life was defined by integrity, discipline, and unwavering service to the unity and progress of the country.

“President Buhari was not just a national icon; he was a proud son of our soil whose humility and simplicity endeared him to millions,” the VC stated.

He highlighted Buhari’s legacy in anti-corruption, security, and economic reform as unmatched, saying his contributions have left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political and developmental history.

As prayers were offered for Allah’s mercy upon the former president’s soul, the university called on Nigerians to find strength in Buhari’s enduring legacy of patriotism and courage.

“May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and reward his noble soul with Aljannat Firdaus,” the statement concluded.
