In a proud moment for Katsina State, two homegrown talents — Yushau Armayau and Chigozie Michael — have been officially named in Nigeria’s U20 Flying Eagles squad heading to the U20 Nations Cup in Cairo, Egypt.
This landmark achievement comes on the heels of Katsina’s first-ever U20 National Team camp, a groundbreaking initiative spearheaded by Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda as part of his bold vision to empower youth and develop grassroots sports across the state.
The historic development was made possible through the synergy between the Dikko Sports Movement, led by Alhaji Abubakar Sani, and the Katsina State Ministry of Sports, both of which worked tirelessly to provide a platform for young athletes to shine on the national stage.
The Flying Eagles squad departed Abuja for Egypt on April 20, with the tournament set to kick off on April 27, 2025.
With Katsina’s rising stars now flying the nation’s colors, the state cements its place as a growing force in Nigerian football.
