Two Farmers Killed as Suspected Herders Launch Deadly Attack in Benue

Two farmers have been killed following an attack by suspected armed herders in Naka, Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to reports obtained by Zagazola Makama, the tragic incident occurred on October 3, 2025, when the victims were returning home from their farm.

A resident, Odiua Oshinyo of Tse Adiagh, Naka, reported to the police that his son, 25-year-old Terkimbi Gyaluwa, narrowly escaped the assault and recounted how armed herders opened fire on them while they worked on their farm.

Responding swiftly, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Naka mobilised patrol and tactical teams to the scene, where two bodies were recovered and taken to the General Hospital Mortuary in Naka.

Police sources confirmed that joint patrols have since been intensified in the area to prevent further attacks and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
