TRUMP IN ‘CHECKMATE’? Medvedev Says Iran Talks Hand Tehran Upper Edge

Borno State Government

Moscow — Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has dropped a geopolitical bombshell, declaring that Donald Trump’s willingness to discuss Iran’s peace plan is already a strategic victory for Tehran.

In a blistering assessment, Medvedev said the move signals weakness from Washington, arguing that accepting Iran’s 10-point proposal would amount to “humiliation” for the United States and cement Iran’s dominance at the negotiating table.

He further claimed Israel has failed to achieve its core objectives in the region, warning that halting the fragile ceasefire could backfire on all sides.

Casting the crisis in stark terms, Medvedev insisted Trump neither wants nor can sustain a prolonged war with Iran, forcing the U.S. into what he described as a dangerous strategic corner.

Using a chilling chess analogy, he likened Washington’s position to “zugzwang”—a situation where every move leads to defeat—suggesting the U.S. is now trapped in a high-stakes game with no easy escape.

As tensions simmer, the remarks underscore a volatile Middle East standoff where diplomacy, pride, and power are colliding on a razor’s edge.
