The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, has advised troops to ensure their families are properly guided on health insurance schemes before embarking on military operations.

Speaking on February 12, 2025, during a courtesy visit by the Zamfara State Manager of Defence Health Management Limited (DHML), Colonel Abdullahi Gambo (retired), Major General Soyele stressed that a soldier’s peace of mind in battle depends on the well-being of their loved ones. He emphasized that troops must be well-informed about available healthcare resources to prevent distractions during critical missions.

Colonel Gambo revealed that the visit was part of a broader awareness campaign across military formations in Zamfara, aimed at educating service members on the benefits of health insurance for themselves and their dependents. He highlighted the importance of ensuring families have access to proper medical care, which in turn enhances troop morale and operational effectiveness.

Commending the success of Operation Fansan Yamma in combating terrorism across Zamfara and Niger states, Colonel Gambo reaffirmed DHML’s commitment to supporting military personnel with efficient healthcare services.

This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen welfare support for Nigerian troops, ensuring they remain focused on securing the nation without concerns about their families’ medical needs.
