In a pre-dawn sting operation, security forces in Katsina State dealt a major blow to bandit gangs along the notorious Dutsen Wori route, recovering seven motorcycles in a joint ambush on April 10, 2025.
The daring operation, executed around 4:15 a.m., involved troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, the Nigeria Police Force, Community Watch Corps, and local Vigilante Groups.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the bandits, riding in a convoy of motorcycles, walked into a well-laid ambush and opened fire upon sighting the security forces. A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the bandits to retreat into the bush with suspected gunshot wounds.
Although the criminals escaped, the operation resulted in the seizure of seven motorcycles—dealing a logistical blow to the armed gangs terrorizing the region.
Security operatives continue to comb the area in pursuit of the wounded assailants as Operation FANSAN YANMA intensifies its crackdown on criminal elements in Katsina.
