Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), under Operation Hadin Kai, have intensified offensive operations against terrorists, recording major gains in the Kashimori axis of Borno State with the clearance of multiple Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) enclaves.
Military sources confirmed that the sustained ground and aerial push led to the overrunning of long-held terrorist hideouts, forcing surviving fighters to flee in disarray as troops tightened the noose around remaining pockets in the area. The operation, driven by actionable intelligence, was executed with speed and precision, denying the terrorists freedom of movement and sanctuary.
During the clearance operations, troops recovered a cache of arms and logistics, including assorted weapons, ammunition, communication gadgets and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), underscoring the group’s intent to carry out further attacks before the clampdown. The seized materials have since been secured for further analysis and disposal in line with standard procedures.
