Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have recorded a major breakthrough against armed criminal networks in Taraba State, uncovering a hidden armoury packed with assault weapons and ammunition in a swift, intelligence-led operation.
The decisive raid followed the interception of a suspect believed to be a key link to a notorious criminal kingpin operating within the state. Acting on credible intelligence extracted during preliminary interrogation, troops moved quickly to a concealed arms cache, striking before the syndicate could relocate its deadly stockpile.
Inside the armoury, soldiers recovered 13 AK-47 rifles, 39 magazines, a staggering 690 rounds of live ammunition, and grenades, underscoring the scale and lethality of the criminal operation that had been building quietly in the shadows.
