Troops Rescue Six Kidnap Victims After Intense Operation in Enugu

A swift and coordinated operation by security operatives led to the rescue of six kidnapped victims in Enugu State on May 2.

The rescue took place around 7:30 AM in the dense Nkwo Okwutu forest in Nsukka Local Government Area, near the Enugu-Kogi border. The successful operation was carried out by a joint team comprising Nigerian Army personnel, police officers, local vigilante groups, and forest guards.

The kidnappers, overwhelmed by the relentless pursuit, abandoned their hostages and fled. The rescued individuals were identified as Reverend Sister Ukwluaba Ogochukwu, Ugwan Likani, Ezema Goodluck, Ukwuaba Esther, Chekueuche Odo, and Reverend Sister Florian Amrdia.

Following the rescue, the victims were taken to the Catholic Hospital in Emene for medical assessment. They were declared physically stable, debriefed, and joyfully reunited with their families.
