Troops Rescue Hostages, Kill Terrorist in Borno Clearance Operations

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, have rescued two hostages and neutralised a Boko Haram terrorist during clearance operations in Borno State.

The operations, carried out on October 1 by troops of the 222 Battalion (Main) with support from volunteer forces on motorcycles, took place across Mittiri, Loskuri, Tamsu Ngamdu, and Wonori villages.

In the course of the mission, one terrorist was killed, while the freed hostages were successfully evacuated to safety. The troops also recovered a motorcycle belonging to the insurgents.

The military reaffirmed its determination to sustain clearance operations and dismantle terrorist enclaves, stressing that its goal remains the restoration of lasting peace and security in the North East.
