Troops under Operation FANSAN YANMA have successfully rescued 50 kidnap victims and recovered 32 rustled cows after repelling a bandit attack in Raudama village, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to sources who spoke with Zagazola Makama, the attempted raid occurred around 8:00 p.m. on April 27, when armed bandits stormed the community.
Prompt action by a combined team of army and police personnel led to a swift deployment of joint patrol forces, who engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle. The troops eventually overpowered the criminals, forcing them to retreat.
During the operation, all 50 kidnap victims were freed without harm, and the stolen cattle were successfully recovered.
Unfortunately, two individuals — Mai’ Unguwa Isah Biredi, 50, and Hassan Na Sakaka, 40 — sustained injuries during the encounter. They were immediately taken to the General Hospital in Funtua for medical care.
