……GOC UNACHUKWU RALLIES BRIGADE TO “TAKE THE FIGHT TO THE ENEMY”
In a bold and renewed push to stamp out terrorism in Nigeria’s Northeast, the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 OPHK, Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu, has charged troops of 26 Task Force Brigade to intensify their assault against insurgents and maintain relentless pressure deep within enemy territory.
During a high-level operational visit to the Brigade Headquarters on Thursday, May 29, 2025, Brigadier General Unachukwu lauded the troops for their recent victories — especially their daring incursion into the heart of Sambisa Forest — while calling on them to raise the bar and finish the fight.
“Your outstanding operational success in clearing terrorists deep into Sambisa is a testament to your bravery, dedication, and professionalism,” the GOC declared. “But we are not done yet. I urge you all to maintain this momentum, push further, and ensure our sector — and indeed the nation — is completely free from the scourge of terrorism.”
The visit, aimed at assessing the combat readiness and morale of the troops, saw the GOC inspect logistics and equipment alongside Brigade Commander Brigadier General N.I. Abdullahi. The inspection was followed by a strategic briefing on plans to deny terrorists freedom of movement across the brigade’s area of responsibility.
In his trademark show of leadership and encouragement, the GOC donated morale-boosting items to the troops — a gesture warmly received and one that further ignited the fighting spirit across the ranks.
This operational tour underscores 7 Division’s unwavering commitment to the mission: total defeat of terrorism and restoration of lasting peace in the region.
