…..Sustains Pressure on Boko Haram, ISWAP in Renewed Assault

Troops of the Headquarters Joint Task Force North East under Operation Hadin Kai have intensified offensive operations across the theatre, neutralising scores of terrorists and recovering arms as well as logistics supplies in recent coordinated assaults.
The latest operations were conducted under Operation Desert Sanity V, targeting insurgent enclaves across different sectors of the North-East.
In Sector 2, troops working in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force carried out a successful night operation around Muktum and Ngirbuwa villages. During the encounter, several terrorists were neutralised, while two AK-47 rifles, three motorcycles and mobile phones were recovered.
According to the military, further exploitation along the withdrawal route of the fleeing terrorists revealed drag marks and a shallow grave, suggesting additional enemy casualties.
Similarly, troops of Sector 1 engaged fleeing terrorists along the Bulayobe–Darel Jamel axis as the insurgents attempted to cross the Main Supply Route. The terrorists reportedly fled in disarray, abandoning two sacks containing assorted logistics items believed to be intended for terrorist elements.
The military high command noted that although the general security situation across the theatre remains calm, it is still unpredictable. However, troops’ morale and operational efficiency remain high as forces continue to dominate their areas of responsibility and disrupt terrorist activities.
The update was contained in a press statement issued by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, dated 14 February 2026.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Headquarters Operation Hadin Kai to sustaining offensive pressure against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists until lasting peace and economic stability are fully restored in the North-East region.
