Troops Nab ISWAP Informants in Midnight Sting in Borno

Borno State Government

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested two suspected informants linked to ISWAP during a swift overnight operation in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to security sources, the suspects were apprehended around 3:00 a.m. following credible intelligence provided by a local watchkeeper who reported suspicious movements in the Mainok area.

Acting swiftly, troops of the 156 Task Force Battalion intercepted the suspects along the Goni–Masari axis, where they were found in possession of electrical cables—items believed to be linked to possible sabotage or support for terrorist activities.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing preliminary investigations to determine the extent of their involvement and possible connections to insurgent networks.

Security officials noted that the successful operation highlights the critical role of community-based intelligence in the ongoing fight against الإرهاب in the North-East.

They reaffirmed that troops remain alert and resolute in their mission to deny terrorist elements freedom of movement and ensure sustained security across the region.
