On April 26, 2025, a group of suspected bandits launched an attack on Abaji Town in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, firing indiscriminately around 4:30 p.m.
Responding swiftly, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke, alongside officers from the Nigeria Police Force and members of the Benue State Civil Protection Guard, intervened and successfully repelled the attackers. The bandits fled the area as the combined security forces took control, averting further casualties.
Sadly, before the security teams could reach the scene, the bandits had shot two women. One of the victims, identified as Iveren Titus, died instantly. The second woman was rushed to NkST Hospital in Abaji, where she is currently receiving medical care.
A massive search operation has been launched to track down the fleeing suspects, with security personnel combing the surrounding areas.
