In a decisive operation, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma, supported by the air component, struck terror camps along the Shinkafi, Kagara, Fakai, Moriki, Maiwa, and Chindo axis. The operation resulted in the elimination of numerous terrorists, including the son of notorious kingpin Bello Turji, who was killed on Fakai high ground where the terrorists had been hiding.
The intense firepower of the troops dealt a devastating blow to the terrorists, destroying their logistics hub and rescuing several hostages held captive by Turji’s group. In a desperate move, Turji fled the scene, abandoning his son and fighters to their fate.
In a related operation, troops dismantled a terrorist stronghold known as Idi Mallam Camp in Zango Kagara Forest. During the raid, three terrorists were neutralized, three collaborators were apprehended, and several arms, including two machine guns and an AK-47 rifle, were recovered. Troops also rescued 61 rustled cattle and 44 sheep, among other items.
The military remains steadfast in its mission to protect citizens and sustain its momentum against criminal elements.
