Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully neutralised seven fighters belonging to the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and dismantled several suspected terrorist camps during a series of clearance operations across Borno State.
According to intelligence shared with Zagazola Makama, the coordinated offensive on May 5 targeted known ISWAP enclaves and key logistics routes, intensifying efforts to eliminate insurgent strongholds in the region.
Operating under the 7 Division Garrison, the Nigerian Army, alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and hybrid forces, swept through several villages in Konduga Local Government Area, including Ajilari Cross, Bimi, Duari, Caterpillar Jeria, Gongolori, Isari, and Kartari.
At Sumun village, troops engaged in a firefight with the terrorists, resulting in the death of seven insurgents. A cache of weapons was recovered, comprising three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, two hand grenades, five cutlasses, and a bow and arrow.
The forces reported no further resistance following the initial confrontation, marking a successful phase in the ongoing operation.
