RANN, Borno State — In a decisive show of force, gallant troops of the 3 Battalion, operating from Forward Operating Base (FOB) Rann in Kala-Balge Local Government Area, have repelled a fierce attack by ISWAP/JAS terrorists.
The clash, which erupted on the night of August 7, 2025, ended in heavy losses for the insurgents. At first light, an exploitation mission by the troops uncovered the lifeless bodies of three terrorists — among them the group’s notorious top commander, Amirul Fiya.
Military sources described the operation as a significant blow to the terror network’s leadership structure in the region, reaffirming the Nigerian Army’s resolve to crush insurgency in the Northeast.
