Troops Crush Boko Haram Ambush in Borno, 13 Terrorists Neutralized

Gallant troops of Operation Hadin Kai have repelled a deadly ambush staged by Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, killing 13 insurgents and recovering weapons in the process.

The foiled ambush, which occurred Wednesday along the Gubio–Damasak road near Kareto in Mobbar Local Government Area, targeted a military convoy escorting vital humanitarian supplies to vulnerable communities.

According to security sources, the terrorists detonated two command Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in a desperate attempt to halt the convoy before unleashing heavy gunfire. But the troops, maintaining tactical superiority, swiftly engaged the attackers in a fierce firefight.

The encounter ended in victory for the military, leaving 13 insurgents dead while others fled with gunshot wounds. Several weapons and ammunition were recovered at the scene, further crippling the capacity of the terror groups to threaten security in the area.

The successful operation once again demonstrates the resilience and combat readiness of Operation Hadin Kai troops, who continue to secure critical supply routes and protect civilians across the Northeast.
