In a major breakthrough against cattle rustling in Plateau State, troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP) have arrested two notorious suspects and recovered dangerous weapons during a raid in Kogul Village, Mangu Local Government Area.
The intelligence-led operation, carried out on Thursday, September 11, 2025, led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a fabricated revolver rifle, a magazine, ten rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a mobile phone, and cash.
Military sources confirmed that the suspects and exhibits are in custody for investigation, while follow-up operations are underway to track down other members of the rustling syndicate.
Officials described the arrest as a significant step in addressing the root causes of violent crises often linked to cattle rustling in the Joint Operations Area.
