In a swift counter-attack, troops of the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), alongside Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, ambushed terrorists near Ka’ayijiwa Fandanari village, Borno State. The September 27 operation followed credible intelligence, leading to a fierce firefight.

Several terrorists were neutralized, though exact numbers remain unconfirmed. Security forces recovered two AK-47 rifles, 112 rounds of mixed ammunition, and other contraband, forcing the terrorists to flee in disarray. This successful ambush marks another win in the fight against insurgency in the region.
