A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of five young men from the Yakawada community in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The fatal crash occurred on Friday along the Giwa–Marabar Yakawada Road, as the victims were reportedly on their way to earn their daily livelihood. Eyewitnesses described the accident as severe, saying all five victims died on the spot.
The incident has thrown the entire Yakawada community into mourning, with residents expressing deep sorrow over the loss of the promising youths.
“It’s a huge tragedy for us. They were hardworking young men who went out seeking their livelihood but never returned,” a community member lamented.
Prayers have been offered for the repose of their souls, with sympathizers calling on authorities to ensure safer roads and stronger enforcement of traffic regulations in the area.
Community leaders also extended prayers for those injured in the crash, who are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
“We pray that Almighty Allah forgives their shortcomings, grants them eternal rest, and gives speedy recovery to those injured,” a family member said tearfully.
The deceased have since been buried according to Islamic rites amid tears and prayers.
