Tragedy on Niger Waters: NEMA Rescues 150, Recovers 42 Bodies in Boat Mishap

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has successfully rescued 150 passengers and recovered 42 bodies following a devastating boat mishap in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.

Boat, overloaded with about 300 people, capsized on October 1 while returning from a Maulud celebration.

Among the victims, 39 men, two women, and one child were found dead and buried according to Islamic rites.
