The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina State Command, Aminu Datti Ahmad, has received more royal blessings from His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Umar Faruk Umar, CON, the Emir of Daura.
During his visit to the Emir’s palace on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Commandant Ahmad emphasized his commitment to tackling security challenges in Katsina State. He stated that his visit was to formally introduce himself as the substantive Commandant, pay homage, and seek the Emir’s guidance and support.
“I am happy to be here today to seek your support, guidance, and blessings in order to succeed in tackling the security challenges in the state,” Ahmad said.
He also conveyed warm greetings from the NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, reaffirming the Corps’ dedication to addressing insecurity across the country. He acknowledged the vital role of traditional institutions in maintaining law and order and pledged to strengthen collaboration with the Emirate for enhanced security in the state.
In response, the Emir of Daura welcomed Commandant Ahmad and his team, commending their inclusivity and dedication. He highlighted the importance of security and attributed rising insecurity to factors such as poverty, ignorance, and poor upbringing. The Emir urged the NSCDC leadership to deploy more strategies and synergy in combating insecurity.
“The CG has taken a commendable step in posting Ahmad to the state,” the Emir stated, offering prayers for the Commandant’s success.
Commandant Ahmad expressed gratitude for the Emir’s support and pledged to reposition the NSCDC in Katsina for better performance, assuring that the Corps would remain open to advice and collaboration with the Emirate.
