A new chapter in Borno State’s economic revival has unfolded as two indigenous powerhouses, Thinklab Group and Al-Ansar Security Services, sealed a strategic partnership for the management of the prestigious Thinklab Estates. The agreement, celebrated in Maiduguri this week, underscores the growing investor confidence and business-friendly environment championed by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
The handover of the 600-housing unit estates in Bakassi GRA and Teachers Village marked more than a corporate milestone—it signified a bold stride in Borno’s transformation into a hub for sustainable private investment. The project, once abandoned, was revived under a visionary Public-Private Partnership (PPP) actively supported by the Zulum administration, which has made infrastructure renewal and private sector participation top priorities.
Thinklab Group, founded by Borno-born innovator Dr. Sa’id Alkali Kori, led the massive rescue and completion of the housing estates—an accomplishment made possible through the state’s stable policy framework and pro-investment governance.
Complementing this success, Al-Ansar Security Services, a subsidiary of the Al-Ansar Foundation established by Dr. Mohammed Kyari Dikwa (mni), has been engaged to manage facility security and maintenance. The firm has deployed a 100-man professional team to oversee the estate, reflecting the new wave of confidence in local expertise and the secure atmosphere now defining Borno.
Speaking at the ceremony, Thinklab Project Director, Dr. Abba Damuna, applauded Governor Zulum’s leadership for creating a fertile ground for growth.
> “We are here today because of the unwavering support and visionary leadership of His Excellency, Professor Babagana Zulum. His administration created the platform for this PPP to thrive, turning a stalled project into a beacon of modern living,” he said.
A senior representative of Al-Ansar Security also credited the Zulum administration for restoring peace and enabling indigenous firms to flourish.
> “Governor Zulum’s focus on security and empowerment has made it possible for us to operate at this scale. We are proud to protect and maintain this landmark project as a symbol of Borno’s resilience,” the representative noted.
The Thinklab–Al-Ansar collaboration now stands as a model of homegrown partnership and innovation, demonstrating how Borno’s own talent, intellect, and resources are being harnessed for state development.
More than just an agreement between two firms, the deal represents “Borno Rising” — a powerful story of rebirth underpinned by local enterprise, visionary governance, and a renewed sense of pride in what the people of Borno can achieve under stable leadership.
