Fresh fear gripped Taka-Tsaba community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area on Tuesday night as armed bandits loyal to the notorious kingpin Bello Turji launched a deadly raid that left one resident dead and at least ten others—mostly girls—abducted.
Residents said the attackers struck under the cover of darkness, moving swiftly through the settlement, firing sporadically and forcing terrified villagers to flee into the bush. By dawn, the community was counting its losses: a life cut short and families plunged into anguish as their daughters were marched away into the night.
Local sources lamented that the attack adds to a grim pattern of violence linked to Turji’s network across parts of north-western Nigeria, where rural communities remain vulnerable to raids, killings and mass kidnappings.
Security agencies were said to have been alerted as the community appealed for urgent intervention to rescue the abducted victims and restore calm.
