An 18-year-old girl, Faiza Abdullahi, has been arrested in connection with the tragic death of a woman, Hajara Bashir, during a domestic altercation in the Kabala Costain area of Kaduna metropolis.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday night when Faiza became involved in a heated exchange with a 13-year-old boy, Khalifa Abubakar Bashir, who resides in the Kamfanin Kobo neighborhood.
According to eyewitness accounts, the altercation escalated when Hajara Bashir, the boy’s mother, stepped in to defend her son. During the confrontation, Faiza allegedly grabbed Hajara by the neck, causing her to collapse suddenly.
Efforts were made to save Hajara’s life as she was rushed to a nearby medical facility, but she was pronounced dead by a doctor around 10:14 p.m.
Following the incident, police apprehended Faiza and placed her in custody. The deceased’s family opted not to conduct a post-mortem examination, and her remains were released for burial in line with Islamic practices.
The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal dispute is currently underway.
