Team Yobe has made a remarkable achievement by securing 2 gold and 3 silver medals at the ongoing 8th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, 2024.

According to an official release by the organizers on Tuesday, Team Yobe earned gold medals in the Chess game (Board 2 and Board 3) and silver medals in the Chess Team game and Chess game (Board 1), in addition to Team captain’s medal that Team Yobe secured another silver medal.

In addition to their success in chess, Team Yobe’s Azeez Temilade Omolabake advanced to the final stage of the shooting competition, scoring 506.8 points. She competed against three other contestants from various states.

Team Yobe faced stiff competition from eight other teams in the pistol and rifle shooting contests during the final stages.
