Supremacy Battle in Zamfara: Kachalla Alti Guns Down Rival Bandit Kingpin Dankarami Usaini

A violent turf war has rocked Matsuki village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, as notorious bandit kingpin Kachalla Alti shot dead his fellow gang leader, Dankarami Usaini, in a deadly show of dominance.

The clash, which unfolded around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, sent shockwaves through the community, forcing residents to flee in fear of reprisals.

Dankarami, 40, a Hausa native of Matsuki and feared operator from the Dangajeru forest, was known for allegedly extorting locals and unleashing attacks on those who resisted.

Sources said he was in the village to collect levies for Kachalla Alti, younger brother of infamous warlord Adamu Alero. But after weeks of growing anger over his “excessive harassment,” locals reportedly appealed to Alti to step in.

Alti’s intervention turned deadly—he stormed the village with his fighters and shot Dankarami dead on the spot. Since then, tension has gripped the area, with sporadic gunfire echoing from surrounding forest routes.
