SUBEB Commences RANA stepdown training in 15 LGEA

The State Universal Basic Education Board Kano has commenced Reading and Numeracy Activities (RANA program for primary Three three teachers across 15 local government areas to train teachers on the initiative.

The program, under the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) scheme, aims to teach literacy and numeracy in the Hausa language.

According to the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Malam Yusuf Kabir, teaching in the mother tongue helps students understand better, a method adopted by developed countries.

Kabir commended the efforts of the state government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusif, in providing support and resources to the education sector, including introducing new policy “Emergency on Education prioritizing education”.

He emphasized the importance of education, urging participants to focus on learning and commending the state government’s efforts in building new schools, renovating existing ones, providing educational materials, and upgrading teachers’ skills.
