South Africa Convicts Seven Chinese Nationals in Landmark Human Trafficking Case

Katsina state government

Johannesburg – In a major crackdown on human trafficking, a South African court has convicted seven Chinese nationals on nearly 160 charges, including human trafficking, kidnapping, debt bondage, labor law violations, and breaches of occupational health and safety regulations.

The convictions mark a significant victory in the country’s fight against forced labor and exploitation. Authorities uncovered the crimes following a raid on an illegal factory where workers were subjected to inhumane conditions.
