In a shocking incident in Obiaruku, Delta State, police have arrested a 23-year-old man, Samson, for brutally stabbing his mother to death.
The tragedy unfolded after the mother, in her 50s, reprimanded Samson for smoking early in the morning. Enraged, Samson attacked her with a knife.
His elder brother’s cries for help drew neighbors to the scene, where they found the mother lifeless in a pool of blood. A video posted on X showed Samson holding the murder weapon.
Family members revealed that Samson, who had struggled with drug addiction, was recently relocated back home from Asaba due to his deteriorating mental health.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed Samson’s arrest and the ongoing investigation.
