Scorpion Squad Arrests Notorious Female Suspect After High-Tech Manhunt

By Abdullahi Inuwa

Abuja — A 29-year-old woman, Blessing Yusuf, wife of a serving Nigerian Army soldier, has been arrested in connection with a daring vehicle theft at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja.

Operatives of the Scorpion Squad apprehended the suspect on April 25, 2025, after an intense digital forensic investigation that traced her movements following the earlier arrest of her husband, L/CPL Yusuf Yunnusa, on April 19.

Sources familiar with the case revealed that Blessing, a resident of Kwali Area Council, fled the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) upon learning of her husband’s capture. However, she was eventually tracked down and taken into custody.

During preliminary interrogations, Blessing reportedly confessed to masterminding the car theft, citing mounting medical expenses as her motive. She admitted to purchasing a set of Toyota Corolla keys online via Jumia, which were used to steal a vehicle parked at the Federal Secretariat.

Investigators say Blessing played an active role in the heist by distracting passersby while her husband drove the car away. The stolen vehicle was later hidden in Kwali.

Both suspects are now being held for further questioning as investigations deepen.
