In another decisive blow against terror in the North-East, troops of Operation HADIN KAI have neutralised five terrorists and rescued kidnapped civilians during a daring dawn operation in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, executed in the early hours of Saturday, January 4, 2026, saw battle-hardened troops, working in close synergy with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), storm a notorious terrorist crossing point along the Sojiri axis. What followed was a swift, well-coordinated engagement that left five terrorists dead—without a single casualty recorded among the troops.
Beyond the battlefield victory, the operation delivered a powerful humanitarian outcome: three abducted civilians were rescued alive from the clutches of the fleeing terrorists. Troops also recovered AK-47 rifles and other sundry items, further degrading the terrorists’ operational capacity in the area.
Military sources described the mission as a textbook example of precision, professionalism and superior combat coordination—proof that the counterterrorism offensive in the Theatre remains firmly in control.
“The success of this operation reflects our sustained commitment to aggressive offensive actions against terrorist elements, while placing the safety of civilians at the centre of our mission,” a senior officer said.
The operation also underscored the growing importance of intelligence-driven collaboration between the Armed Forces and local security stakeholders, particularly the CJTF, whose grassroots knowledge continues to play a critical role in choking terrorist movement corridors.
With troop morale reportedly high and operational dominance maintained across key flashpoints, security forces say they are steadily shrinking the space for terrorist networks to regroup or strike.
As Operation HADIN KAI presses on with relentless momentum, the message from the Sojiri axis is unmistakable: the hunt is on, the ground is held, and peace remains the ultimate objective for Borno State and the wider North-East.
