Residents of Awada in Idemili North LGA, Anambra State, were thrown into shock and disbelief on Saturday, July 5, 2025, after a 25-year-old man, Samuel Eze, was arrested for allegedly being in possession of what appears to be a freshly severed human breast.
According to the Anambra State Police Command, the grisly discovery was made around 3:30 p.m. in the Wisdom Community area, when vigilant members of a local security outfit noticed Eze behaving suspiciously and carrying a suspicious chunk of flesh.
The community vigilante team wasted no time in alerting the police. Officers swiftly moved in and apprehended Eze, who resides at No. 25 Jude Onyekwere Street, Awada.
In a chilling preliminary statement, the suspect claimed that the body part was handed to him by an unidentified “brother.” His vague explanation has left both the police and the community searching for answers — and the source of the suspected human organ.
“We are not taking any chances. The suspected human breast has been deposited at the Borromeo Hospital Mortuary for pathological examination,” a police source told Zagazola Makama. “We are working with forensic experts to confirm whether the flesh is indeed human and how it was obtained.”
The horrifying find has sparked fear and outrage among residents, with many demanding a thorough investigation amid growing concerns about ritual activities and organ trafficking in the region.
As of press time, police say investigations are ongoing to uncover the full truth and possibly track down the said “brother” who allegedly gave the body part to Eze.
The Anambra State Police Command has vowed to pursue justice and ensure that anyone involved in this disturbing case faces the full weight of the law.
