The Kashim Shettima Foundation has commenced the second phase of its ongoing education project with the construction of 45 additional classrooms at its school in the Lamisula Kumshe community of Borno State.
The expansion marks another bold step in the Foundation’s mission to provide access to quality and inclusive education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly those whose families cannot afford formal schooling.
Speaking on the development, officials of the Foundation noted that the initiative aligns with Senator Kashim Shettima’s long-standing vision of transforming lives through education, describing it as the most sustainable way of breaking the cycle of poverty and ignorance.
“This project is a reflection of His Excellency’s belief that he who gives knowledge gives life,” one of the coordinators said. “By investing in classrooms, we are investing in the future of hundreds of children who would otherwise be left behind.”
The Foundation, established by the Vice President during his tenure as Governor of Borno State, has consistently spearheaded educational, health, and humanitarian projects across Nigeria. Over the years, it has built and rehabilitated schools, sponsored scholarships, and supported vulnerable families affected by insecurity.
The ongoing classroom construction in Lamisula Kumshe is part of a broader nationwide intervention aimed at promoting literacy, improving school infrastructure, and empowering communities through learning.
With the second phase now underway, the Foundation is reaffirming its pledge to bridge the education gap and ensure that every Nigerian child—regardless of background or circumstance—has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
