Shehu Sani Urges FG to Reconsider Mass Sacking of Benin Republic Graduates

Katsina state government

Senator Shehu Sani has taken to his X account to address the Federal Government’s mass dismissal of workers who graduated from universities in the Benin Republic.

Describing the move as a blow to thousands of affected individuals, Sani noted that many of them have built stable lives with jobs, marriages, and families, only to face sudden unemployment.

In a heartfelt appeal, the Senator urged the government to provide a pathway for these individuals to regularize their qualifications.

“An opening through the Open University system for them to earn Nigerian degrees would be a fair and practical solution,” Sani proposed.

His post has sparked a wave of reactions, with many lauding the call for compassion and pragmatism in addressing the crisis.

Whether the government will heed the appeal remains to be seen, but the issue has ignited debate on the fairness of education policies and their impact on livelihoods.
