Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has described the election of Zohran Mamdani as Mayor of New York as a triumph of tolerance and humanity over hate, bigotry, and racism.
In a post on his official X account, the outspoken lawmaker said Mamdani’s victory sends a strong message to the world about the power of unity and the rejection of prejudice.
“The election of Zohran Mamdani as New York Mayor is a strong message and a victory over hate, bigotry, prejudice and racism. New York voters have risen above sentiments and raised the moral bar for tolerance. Mamdani emerged against all odds and that is inspirational. Congratulations @ZohranKMamdani,” Sani wrote.
Senator Sani’s statement has since drawn widespread attention online, with many commending his message of global solidarity and inclusiveness.
