The Shehu of Bama, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Kyari Ibn Ibrahim El-Kanemi, has commended the Zannah Boguma of Bama, Abiso Soye, for his outstanding contributions to Islamic propagation and educational development in Nguro Soye Ward of Bama Local Government Area.

The monarch, who was represented by the District Head of Nguro Soye and Kachalla Yamani of the Bama Emirate Council, Engineer Kaka Mallam Kaigama, made the commendation during the commissioning of the Nguro Soye Central Mosque, constructed by Alhaji Abiso Soye.

Speaking at the event, the Shehu praised the unity and cooperation among the people of the Bama Emirate, describing education as the foundation of human development. He urged residents to sustain peaceful coexistence and to take collective responsibility for maintaining the newly commissioned mosque and the Nguro Soye Primary School.

He further expressed appreciation to Alhaji Abiso Soye for his unwavering commitment to the spiritual and educational advancement of the community.

The Chairman of Bama Local Government Area, Alhaji Modu Ali Gujja, also applauded the initiative, noting that the project includes a mosque with a Tahfiz Qur’anic Sangaya section for orphans, a public borehole for the Burari community, and a mini bus to transport teachers and pupils between Bama and Nguro Soye.

The council chairman used the occasion to encourage residents to actively participate in the ongoing APC membership registration exercise, observing that Borno State is lagging behind in the process. He also pledged a monthly donation of one hundred thousand naira to support the maintenance of the school bus.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Establishment, and Zannah Dujima of Bama, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, pledged continued support to the school and announced a donation of one million naira.

The convener of the event, Alhaji Abiso Soye, expressed gratitude to the Shehu of Bama for honoring the occasion through his delegation. He explained that the project was part of his personal effort to promote Islamic values and improve access to education for children in Nguro Soye.

According to him, government alone cannot meet all societal needs, making community participation essential. He said this informed his decision to provide school uniforms, learning materials, and a mini bus to ease the movement of teachers and pupils.

Alhaji Abiso Soye called on well-meaning members of the community to unite and support the rebuilding and development of Nguro Soye after years of insurgency. He also prayed for lasting peace in Borno State and Nigeria.

Highlights of the event included the commissioning of the mosque with two raka’at prayers led by the Shehu’s representative, the distribution of school uniforms and learning materials, and a test drive of the school bus.
