Fifty five youth from across Katsina Central Senatorial District are currently undergoing training on Solar Technology initiated by Senator AbdulAziz Musa Yar’adua in his bid to ensure skills acquisition amongst the teaming unemployed youth within the District and beyond.
The training Programme which is being conducted at the Multi Purpose Women Centre Katsina was in collaboration with the Federal College of Education Jama’are.
The participants were selected from the eleven local government areas of the Senatorial District after under going careful screening process.
Speaking at the opening ceremony,
Senator AbdulAziz Musa Yar’adua represented by Alhaji Abu Bala Saulawa explained that the gesture was initiated to curbing the unemployment rate amongst the youth.
Senator AbdulAziz Yar’adua pointed out that last year, Thirty Three selected youth from the District were initially trained, while the number was doubled where Fifty five are being trained this year.
He said this was to complement the efforts of the state and the federal government towards alleviating unemployment.
The Senator charged the participants to ensure agility and enthusiasm during and after the training period.
In his speech, the APC Zonal Chairman of Katsina Central Senatorial District Hon. Yahaya Asasanta pointed out that the APC is proud to present Senator AbdulAziz Yar’adua as its representative in the Senate considering his outstanding performance and good representation for the electorates.
Asasanta appreciated the representation style of Senator AbdulAziz Yar’adua for his foresight in inatiating various Programmes that touches lives of the electorates.
He charged the participants to be patriotic enough to train other youth that were not opportune to be part of the training.
A Senior Legislative Aide to the Senator Hon. Dr. Jamilu Bello Danmusa cited examples of those that undergone such training sponsored by the Senator last year who are currently operating the skills acquired.
A political associate to the Senator Hon Tanimu Sada (House to House) enjoined the participants to appreciate the efforts of the Senator for assisting them to follow the right path and charged them to always be objective, accurate and avoid anything that will jeopadise the mission of being self reliant.
The Leading Facilitator of the training Engineer Ibrahim Bello Ahmad explained that the mission was to intensively train the participants to acquire skills within a week period on every aspects of Solar Technology to enable them become self reliant.
At the end of the training, the participants will be empowered with starter kits and capital for the profession.
Others that spoke at the occasion include Katsina Local Government APC Chairman Hon. Mustapha Kofar Bai, Secretary to the Katsina local government Hon. Abdul Karim Modibbo (Sarkin Malamai) who represented the local council Chairman Hon. Isah Miqdad AD Saude and a trustee of the Senator Alhaji Umaru Farouk AK as wel as Alhaji Abu Rimi.
Others in attendance include Legislative Aides to the Senator Abdulrahman Fardemi and Dahiru Abu Darma, Alhaji Umaru Aska, Alhaji Shehu Yusuf Kafinta, and local government Coordinators to the Senator.
