The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Hon Muhammad Sekure, presided over the Day 2 meeting of the Polio Response (OBR4) campaign, held at the council’s conference hall.
The meeting focused on reviewing progress, addressing challenges, and ensuring effective coordination of the polio immunization efforts within the local government area.
During the meeting, Hon. Sekure reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to eradicating polio and safeguarding children from vaccine-preventable diseases.
He commended the healthcare workers, volunteers, and community leaders dedicated to the campaign, emphasizing the importance of reaching every eligible child in the community.
Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad sekure said the local government We are committed to continue mobilizing resources and working together with our partners to achieve a polio-fre community.
Primary Healthcare Coordinator Hajiya Saratu Ibrahim, along with members of the polio immunization team, provided an update on the campaign’s progress and discussed strategies to overcome the challenges encountered on Day 2.
Saratu Ibrahim assured the team of her full support in overcoming any obstacles to maintain a robust response.
Non-governmental organizations, including WHO and UNICEF, extended their appreciation to the community and the local government chairman for their strong support of the polio program.
The target population for the OBR4 polio immunization round in Tarauni is 96,121.
