In a decisive move to reinforce safety and restore public confidence, the Borno State Joint Security Forces have intensified aggressive patrol operations across the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council.
The coordinated security exercise, which cuts across key flashpoints and densely populated areas of the metropolis, is aimed at deterring criminal activities, responding swiftly to threats, and ensuring sustained peace within the state capital.
Security sources disclosed that the patrols involve a combined team of the military, police, and other critical security agencies working round the clock to maintain law and order in the city.
Residents have been urged to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperate with security operatives as the operations continue. Authorities emphasized that the visible presence of patrol teams is part of proactive measures to prevent any breach of peace, particularly amid recent security concerns in parts of the state.
“The aggressive patrol is a strategic effort to dominate the environment, reassure residents, and swiftly respond to any emerging threats,” a security official noted.
The Joint Security Forces also called on members of the public to promptly report suspicious movements or activities, stressing that community cooperation remains vital in sustaining security gains.
For emergency response and credible information, residents are advised to contact the following hotlines: 0806 807 5581, 0802 347 3293.
Meanwhile, the heightened patrols have already begun to yield positive reactions from residents, many of whom expressed relief over the increased visibility of security personnel across major streets and neighborhoods.
