Security Forces Thwart Kidnapping Attempt in Katsina, Rescue Two Hostages

Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command successfully foiled a kidnapping operation in Dandume Local Government Area, rescuing two victims during a swift nighttime response.

The incident reportedly took place around 11:15 p.m. on May 5, 2025, when suspected bandits stormed Sabuwar Angwa, a community close to Hawan Idi village on the outskirts of Dandume town.

Acting on a distress call, joint security personnel swiftly mobilized to the location and engaged the attackers in a fierce exchange of gunfire. The assailants were forced to flee, leading to the safe recovery of two abducted individuals.

One of the victims, identified as Salisu Sani, sustained a gunshot injury to his right hand during the encounter and was immediately transported to Dandume General Hospital for medical attention.
